D8-D9 Laminectomy is a surgical procedure performed to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves in the lower back. It is typically done to treat conditions such as spinal stenosis, herniated discs, or spinal tumors that are causing compression of the spinal cord or nerve roots. During the procedure, the surgeon removes part of the lamina, the bony arch of the vertebra, to create more space for the spinal cord and nerves.
Dural AV Fistula Excision is a surgical procedure performed to repair an abnormal connection between an artery and a vein in the covering of the brain or spinal cord, known as a dural arteriovenous fistula (DAVF). This abnormal connection can cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, or neurological deficits. During the procedure, the surgeon identifies and disconnects the abnormal connection between the artery and vein, restoring normal blood flow and relieving symptoms.
