“ Formation of sperm takes about  2 – 3 months. Utilize this duration to optimize proper diet, lifestyle and safety measures to favour successful conception. ”

Infertility is a rising concern in India. If you are facing trouble conceiving, you are not alone. As reported in a 2015 study, 15 in 100 couples face infertility across borders, age groups, and cultures in India. Both male fertility and female fertility are a concern. Female factor accounts for 1/3rd and male factor accounts for 1/3rd of infertility cases in Indian couples. The remaining 1/3rd of the infertility concerns are related to both male and female factors together.

Preconception counseling is a medium where you learn the right time and right approach to get pregnant. It is an opportunity to identify possible risk/s and act suitably on time. Delay in seeking fertility treatments will only increase the severity of situation due to aging and further complexities with time.

So how does fertility care help?

Our living conditions have worsened, so have the infertility concerns. Everything from lifestyle to genetics to environmental exposures influences our reproductive health. Other than infertility, certain lifestyle diseases and other medical conditions affect the ease of conception in couples trying to have a baby.

    Did you know?

“In case you plan to have a child later. it is a must to undergo fertility evaluation, be sure that you have time to wait.
Else, you may want to preserve your eggs and sperms for future.”
Age of an individual is one other risk factor of infertility

Age of an individual is one other risk factor for infertility. With career and financial pressures lingering all the time, planning a family takes a backseat for some couples.

While many couples conceive in a year’s time, half of the couples who do not conceive in the first, do conceive in second year.

In some couples, certain health conditions may pose a challenge to conceive. Mostly, these conditions can be controlled with preconception care and lifestyle changes. However, in some cases, medical intervention is deemed essential. When you have tried your best to conceive for a year or more, your doctor may order fertility checks and treatments.

Male fertility care starts with semen analysis and goes further into the hormonal and chromosomal evaluations.

Similarly, female fertility care identifies problems related to hormones, uterus and fallopian tubes (hysterosalpingography), and pelvic floor that might affect fertility. Along with fertility treatments, women may undergo treatments for medical conditions that affect fertility such as tubal disease, uterine fibroids, PCOS, ovarian failure, and ovulatory disturbances.
