Dolo-650 is commonly available in pharmacies as an OTC medication.

While the medicine is available as OTC medicine in pharmacies, it is recommended that you take it after consulting with a doctor. Most often, Dolo 650 is prescribed to alleviate post-surgery pain for mild issues, as mentioned above.

    Some of the precautions you need to take while consuming Dolo 650 include:
    • Avoid consuming alcohol alongside Dolo 650. Since the main ingredient is paracetamol, it can be fatal if alcohol is consumed while taking the medicine. It can also cause liver damage.
    • If you are a patient suffering from any form of kidney disease, you should practice caution while taking Dolo 650.
    • Pregnant women are advised to consult with their doctor before consuming the medicine.

    Dolo 650 is available as an OTC medicine in pharmacies. A missed dose does not cause much of a problem. You can take it when you remember about the missed dose. However, maintain a gap of at least 6-8 hours between 2 doses. An adult must not take more than 3g per day. For children or underweight adults, the dosage is calculated based on their body weight. An overdose of the medicine can display symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss of appetite, the darkened colour of urine, abdominal pain.

    Paracetamol is the principal ingredient of Dolo 650. It can cause allergies in certain people or individuals suffering from specific medical conditions. Dolo 650 consumption should be avoided or only taken under the supervision of a medical professional in case of any history of allergy from paracetamol or liver disease, kidney disease, etc.

    a. With Alcohol – Consuming alcohol along with Dolo 650 can cause severe liver damage. Sometimes it may result in adverse side effects. Some side effects include severe rashes, fatigue, gastrointestinal bleeding, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, weakness, fever, etc. b. With Liver Disease – Patients with a history of liver disease are susceptible to side effects after consuming Dolo 650. So please consume it after consulting with the physician.

    Common substitutes for Dolo 650 include Crocin 650, Glenpar 650, Malidens 650, Paarmol 650, Cipmol 650. These are similar in composition, functionality, and strength, making them as effective as Dolo 650. However, it is recommended you take a doctor's advice before switching.

    Some variants of Dolo 650 include Dolo Caplet, Dolo capsule, and Dolo tablet – all of these are available in strengths of 325 mg, 500 mg, and 650 mg.

    Ideally, Dolo 650 medicine should be kept in a dry place at room temperature. Keep the medicine away from the reach of the children and pets.

    Different brands sell Dolo 650 in India, and they often come in strips of 15 tablets. The cost for one such strip can range from Rs. 25/- to Rs. 30/-, depending on the provider. You can also get it from Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi outlets (generic medicine) for a lesser price.
