Dr. Naveen Polavarapu is a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist, Liver Specialist & Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopist & Endosonologist at Yashoda Hospitals, Hitec City. He has performed over 30,000 endoscopies, 10,000 colonoscopies, 9000 ERCPs, 9000 EUS, and other advanced procedures in his 23 years of medical practice.

He completed his MBBS from NTR University of Health Sciences in 2001 and was recognized as the best outgoing student. After his MBBS, he pursued higher studies in the UK and received his MRCP and FRCP in Gastroenterology from Liverpool Deanery. He has the experience of working at some of the most reputed institutes worldwide. He further pursued Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship Training in ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) at Aintree University Hospital and a Liver Transplant Fellowship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham (a high volume transplant centre that had completed 4000 liver transplants by 2012).

He has done extensive research in cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancers) and has over 30 publications and chapters in peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented a number of abstracts at various international conferences, such as BSG (British), UEGW (European), and AASLD (American), winning prizes for the best posters at the UEGW and BSG conferences.

Dr. Naveen has always had a great passion for teaching. After coming back to India in 2014, despite his demanding clinical responsibilities, he continued teaching for the MRCP and has been appointed as an examiner for the MRCP PACES by the Royal College of Physicians, United Kingdom, since 2018. He mentors students from various countries, including Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Kenya, Afghanistan, the USA, New Zealand, and Bangladesh, providing them with hands-on experience in various endoscopic procedures. He also serves as the Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Medvarsity University, India
