Deep vein thrombosis is a condition caused when a blood clot is formed within one or more deep veins inside the body. These blood clots usually form in the thigh or lower leg areas, other areas are less common, which makes it potentially dangerous to the patient.

    What are the causes of Deep Vein Thrombosis?

    This disease is caused due to conditions that hinder the regular blood circulation, obstruct its passage in the body, and impair the normal clotting mechanism. This may result due to factors such as:

    • Injury, trauma to a vein
    • Previous surgical procedures
    • Medications that affect the clotting mechanism
    • Limited movement may result in a blood clot
