What is Congenital Scoliosis?
Congenital scoliosis is a condition present at birth wherein a spinal deformity leads to the development of a sideways curvature, or result in twisting or rotation of the spine pulling the ribs along with it and forming a multidimensional curve. It occurs when there is a failure in the development of normal vertebrae during the fourth to sixth week of gestation of the fetus in pregnant women.
