What is Lumbar Spinal Stenosis?

Lumbar spinal stenosis is a condition in which the open spaces in the lumbar spine present in the lower region are narrower than normal. It may lead to excessive pressure on the spinal cord and nerves traveling through the spine and cause discomfort to the patient which may ease when bending forward or sitting down.

What are the causes of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis?

The most common cause is degenerative arthritis and degenerative disc disease.
