Cryo Debulking And CryoAblation Of Endobronchial Growth

Cryo Debulking And CryoAblation Of Endobronchial Growth

Background

A 22-year-old female presented with cough and breathlessness for 3 months not subsiding with medications.

Diagnosis and Treatment

Video Bronchoscopy revealed endobronchial growth in the left main bronchus occluding the lower lobe segments. Patient was taken up for cryo debulking, cryoablation and balloon dilatation  through rigid intubation under General anaesthesia. The procedure was done, in two sessions with 4 months interval, resulting in satisfactory recanalisation of the airway. The Histopathology report revealed the growth to be a typical carcinoid. The patient was doing well in subsequent follow ups.
