Limb Length Discrepancy (LLD)

This condition may be congenital or acquired at a later period in life because of certain diseases. Such as;

• Bone infections, tumors hinder bone growth
• Bone diseases that cause deformities
• Neurofibromatosis: It is a genetic disorder which results in the formation of tumors
• Multiple hereditary exostoses
• Ollier disease: It is a condition wherein benign tumors are formed around the bones
• Neurologic conditions
• Juvenile arthritis: inflammation of the synovium observed in children under the ages of 16
• Exposure to radiation
• Fractures and other traumatic injuries may also cause LLD
• It may also be idiopathic in some other conditions.
