What is Intoeing?

Intoeing is a condition in which a child’s feet are turned inwards instead of pointing straight ahead. This condition is also known as Pigeon Toe. Most commonly it is visible when the child begins to walk, but it can occur at different stages for different reasons.

    What are the causes of Intoeing?

    Here are a few of the most common causes  that lead to the conditions of Intoeing in a child:

    • Metatarsus Adductus (the foot turns inward)
    • Tibial Torsion (the shinbone turns inward)
    • Femoral Anteversion (the thigh bone turns inward)

    These conditions can occur on their own and are often associated with other orthopedic problems. These conditions are the result of either genetic or developmental problems.
