What would you like to know?
How is Corn diagnosed?
Corns can be spotted easily. One doesn’t need any diagnostic tool to find corn on the leg. They may have a tender spot in the middle, which is surrounded by dead skin that’s yellow in colour.
How is Corn prevented?
Preventing corn is very simple. One can follow the below-mentioned measures and keep corn at bay:
- Wear proper shoes
- Use protective coverings
- Wear padded gloves
What is the treatment for Corn?
Following are the treatment measures that are used in treating corn:
- Trimming Away Excess Skin: The doctor may trim the corn by shaving the dead skin with a scalpel. This must be done by a professional and not at home as it may lead to unnecessary infections and complications.
- Soaking Feet: One can soak the feet in water regularly and use a pumice stone or callus file to soften and reduce the size of the corn.
- Padding: Wearing a donut-shaped pad over the corn can help reduce the pressure exerted on it and reduce the irritation caused by that.
- Lamb Wool Cushion: Using a bit of lamb’s wool between the toes where the corn is will help cushion the corn and reduce the irritation.
- Right Shoes: Wearing the right shoes is extremely important as there are a number of problems that can be prevented by wearing the right shoes, and corn is one of them.
